What Is A Laryngectomee
by Dwight Pollock
The medical profession describes a laryngectomee as a person that has surgically lost their larynx, usually due to cancer. A laryngectomee may communicate in several different manners, but has the same feelings that "normal" people do. A laryngectomee may have a small handicap, but they are not handicapped people.
A laryngectomee is sometimes afraid
A laryngectomee is sometimes angry
A laryngectomee is sometimes embarrassed
A laryngectomee is sometimes frustrated
A laryngectomee, summing it all up, is
normal, just like everyone else.
